A glass of my favorite cheap shiraz (and I haven't gone in search of other recommended cheap tipples, so it's still the Jacob's Creek) and lots of leftover cheese, including a very tasty very sharp local cheddar (and very salty-- almost like somewhere between a good parmesan and a really sharp crumbly white cheddar). Yum!

Actually, considering the 2001 Jacob's Creek Shiraz and my memories of the 2000, I can see why the 2000 was better. If I find any of that, I may buy them out, just to have them on hand. The 2001 isn't bad at all, but it's not quite as good...

ooh, wine... I want wine. I have wine! I could drink it. 8) But, somehow, drinking wine alone seems rather lame. yummy, wine!

Actually, I rather like drinking wine alone. It's one of the few things I like doing while alone. I don't, in general, like being alone.

But wine drinking. Yes, it's fun to do alone. Especially with some good cheese. Like the cheddar from that nice country store in New Hampshire... Moultenborough, or something like that.

There is always the McGuigan Black Label Shiraz which is (at least in the UK) only a little more expensive than the Jacob's Creek Shiraz (i.e. £1-£2), but is definately worth it. They also do a beautiful Merlot as well - McGuigan Black Label Merlot.

Well, having just spent more than I normally would on a bottle of wine, this 2001 Shiraz better be ok. Or I'll have to come over there and and and errr...
