well, fuck. John Peel, RIP.

Man. That's a huge mass of history gone there. Many times I've picked up an unfamiliar CD by a favorite artist and been delighted to find it full of Peel Sessions. Name a favorite band of the past 20 years and chances are he recorded them, and coaxed mighty performances from great musicians.
He'll certainly be missed. The music world is much the poorer for losing John Peel.

At least Sennheiser is nice about making them easily replaceable...
