tasty tasty garlic toast of doom
Sep. 8th, 2004 04:33 pmImprovised yum:
1 tube Pillsbury "french bread loaf" stuff
1 head garlic
grated parmesan cheese (the real stuff. i'll use dorky bread, but never bad cheese!)
half-stick butter
a little olive oil
pepper, oregano, basil
- make loaf of bread. let cool. slice into little half-inch-or-so-thick slices
- chop garlic into little tiny bits. saute in oil and butter with spices. when you're done, they should be swimming in melted butter. half a stick was enough for this.
- spoon garlic/butter mixture onto slices of bread. each slice should have lots of garlic chunks on it and should be nicely buttered.
- top with grated cheese to taste
- toast under broiler until cheese is melty and bread is toasted
enjoy! eat with a friend, so you'll have somebody else who can stand being anywhere near you for the next two or three days, 'cause you're gonna be oozing garlic stench for a long long time.
