Bethesda Softworks, makers of, among other things, Morrowind, has bought the license to Fallout 3 from now-essentially-defunct Interplay.

They will be releasing Fallout 3 along with the next Elder Scrolls game. Hooray!

Maybe the day when someone picks up Darklands out of whatever deep vault Hasbro has it hidden is getting closer, too. And, while i'm wishing, i want to see sequels to Torment and Grim Fandango, `kthx.

I haven't encountered Bethesda since Daggerfall. Do they still write games that need to go through hundreds of post-release bug patches before they are playable enough to finish?

Morrowind (and if you actually played enough of Daggerfall to determined if you'd like it, and did like it, you'll also like Morrowind) was pretty good. It's also been out long enough that it's been thoroughly patched, and is quite playable. I spent WAY too much of the early part of this year trudging back and forth across that damn island beating things and talking to people...

I did like Daggerfall but ended up wandering around a labyrinth without finding the exit (or even being sure that there was one).

I'll have to try Morrowind now. Well, not now but once I finish work for the day. Better yet, once I finish work and my current game of Galactic Civilisations.

Wow, that really makes my day. Fallout and Fallout 2 are two of my all time favorite games. I hope they make a worthy sequel.
