all sorts of excitement
May. 23rd, 2004 04:39 pmSaturday,
usagijer got married to
delenn1122!!! Hooray for them, and best wishes and everything. I have pictures, which I will put online something soon.
Saturday night, Magnetic Fields show! They were really good, as was their opener, Andrew Bird. Acquired two of his CDs, which turn out to be also quite good. While there, who should I encounter but
mandy_moon. I spotted somebody who looked sort of familiar and thought, "Naw, it couldn't be..." Finally I worked up the courage to go and introduce myself, and it was! Of course, I had only figured out what I'd say if it wasn't her (or, um, you. since you read this. hi.), so I instantly shifted back into shyness, said something dumb about how I didn't really have a voice or anything (and I don't really, after a week of either some kind of flu or the worst allergie attack I have ever had in my life), and walked off quickly. Yay. Only one of the net-only people I've most wanted to meet, and I managed to be kind of dumb at her. Anyway, that was a surprise and made a pleasant evening even better.
Sunday morning, helped
stophittinyrslf move out of the residence hall for good. It was a quick errand, really-- only 2 carloads of stuff. She asked me to take back my game console stuff, too, since she doesn't really have space for it, and won't for another couple of weeks.
Then we had coffee and very tasty baked goods at the Bean Counter.
Then we listened to CDs and talked and stuff.
Then I came home and had a pretty unrestful naplike couple of hours, broken by lots of coughing and being too hot.
Now I'm up. I'm going to see if I'm about to finish Far Cry or if there will be still more endless islands across which to navigate. I had just finished up the level where you blow up a bunch of radio towers and said, "Huh, I haven't seen any of the nasty mutant things in a while..." Ha.
Or maybe I'll just lay on the couch and gweep for a couple of hours, take cough medicine, and pass out.
