I think I have achieved a state I can only describe as Total Cheese Saturation.

Oh dear reader, I do not think you want to know what it takes to bring your humble author to this state. Describing the events of this evening is beyond the scope of even such a master of the literary arts as myself, for I find myself awash in a surfeit of such a variety of cheeses of all nationalities that I am at a loss where to begin. The tart pleasures of the Halloumi? The ashen streak through the Morbier? The disconcerting runniness of the St. Marcellin or the chocolately tang of the Gjetost? My words are not enough to encompass the variety. Suffice to say, the leftovers from this evening along would fuel the nightmares of any lactophobe for decades to come, even as they provide my lunches for the following days and weeks.

I'm envious now....

I guess I should just be glad to have my mediocre kosher brie and be happy that such a thing exists. But sometimes walking by all those slabs of cheese at Bread and Circus Whole Foods just makes me want to rent out a kitchen for a week and make marvelous cheese platters every single night. Silly kosher kitchen. Silly kosher clientele who don't care about quality cheese.

I hope your cheese was worth the wait though! :)

Well, it looks like fudge and smells like feet, to start with. That should be considered false advertising. Then we move on to the actual taste. Generally I like goat cheese - it's lovely, smooth and creamy, with a tang cow cheese just can't aspire to. Gjtost is such an exception to this rule. It has the consistency of rubbery cheddar, it's not smooth _at all_ and let's not talk about it's "tang". Yick. It's possibly my least favourite cheese, with the exception of Limburger. I got some in my Christmas stocking the year I lived in AK, and walked innocently into the "hey, cool new cheese!" trap. Not a good memory.

There are 5 different cheese in my fridge right now. I had planned on doing nothing but drinking wine and enjoying them on Tuesday*, but real life got in the way. Most of them are soft cheeses, including a triple cream blue cheese, hopefully tonight I will be able to indulge in the same manne ryu obviously have.

*Actualy the plan was to spend the night with my dog but I could do that at the same time.
