Nov. 5th, 2003 01:21 pmThe campus center lately has been serving veggie meatballs. Last week they were in some kind of creamy sauce thing (kind of like sausage gravy, but not meaty). This week it was a veggie meatball sub.
They're nicely seasoned, a little bit spicy and surprisingly good, and they don't seem to cause me any sort of gastric distress or unpleasantness. In fact, I quite like them. They probably cause cancer or gestate into Gigeresque nightmares or something. At least they're yummy.

Date: 2003-11-05 12:10 pm (UTC)We just got Quorn over here-- there was a sudden outcry over "deceptive marketing," since the boxes say "A member of the mushroom family," rather than "a fungus," but that was quickly shouted down what it was pointed out that the group crying out was affiliated with another maker of fake meat. Quorn appears to be best when trying to be chicken. Their sausage links are... okay. Not great. I much prefer Morningstar Farms' sausage links.
These, I think, are Boca brand fake meatballs...
