I just got offered a job at the local liquor store.
I was browsing, and overheard a woman asking a store employee about port. He didn't know the answer to her question ("What's the difference between ruby and tawny port?"), so I, as politely as possible, explained. He was enlightened, she was enlightened, and while I couldn't convince her to buy something I knew was good (Warre's Otima-- "Oh, that's too expensive."), she at least knew how the 10-dollar plonk she picked out was made.
On the way out, the store employee walked up as I was checking out and said, "Hey, uh, are you looking for a part-time job? We could really use a wine clerk..."
So, if anyone needs a part-time job with what appears to be GREAT perks, the Austin Liquor in Shrewsbury is hiring a wine clerk. They've had an ad in the papers for a while, but none of the applicants have had any useful wine knowledge.
