Today I could play the opening few bars of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" with more than just the strummy chords. There's a little ascending bassline between the first and second chord that I could never get right. Now, after a week of not-enough-fingering-exercises, I could not only pick it out, but play it. The fingering exercises and learning to pick upwards have both helped.

Now that jehanna has a job again, I will probably start practicing first thing in the morning, after she leaves. It's quiet, I'm newly wakened and my brain isn't cluttered yet, and nobody is around to annoy by playing the same thing over and over and over until I get it right.

I should make a new icon, too, for guitar thingies...
