Yes, MORE car excitement.

Went to the WPI Battle of the Bands last night, played a decent set (got applause, sure got more votes than the FIRST band, and it looked like more than the third group, too), decided to hang around with some very nice people, got schnockered, and crashed in Worcester.

Awoke this morning to find the front passenger-side window smashed out, my nice stereo handily removed (leaving a huge ugly gap), and 8 CDs missing.

They are:

  • Postal Service: Give Up
  • My Bloody Valentine: Loveless
  • Mountain Goats: All Hail West Texas
  • Mountain Goats: Tallahassee
  • Mountain Goats: We Shall All Be Healed
  • Capricorns: "In The Zone"
  • He Said: Take+Care
  • Death Cab For Cutie: Transatlanticism

So, if any Worcester-area folks are cruising used record stores and notice a strange influx of semi-obscure indie music, let me know. Meanwhile, I'm just going to call my insurance company (again) and see about getting my dashboard put back together. I'm expecting repairs won't get anywhere near my deductible. I kept the original stereo, though, so I can at least put that back in and have CD-listening back, if not iPod-listening.

Feh.

Otherwise, it was a good weekend.

They didn't get the few CDs in the back seat...

...or the keyboard and synth gear in the trunk. Eek.

ooooh

Breaking the signal
So it's totally unreadable
Drinking the dregs
Eating the utterly inedible
We do what we do
All for you
All dressed up
Black hat and white cane
Slowly circling the drain
Ready for the future
Ready for the world about to come

Shooting the sequel before the treatment's even finished
Sanding numbers off the monojects
As our slight returns diminish
We are what we are
Get in the goddamn car
Smiling faces flawlessly rehearsed
We are sleek and beautiful
We are cursed
Ready for the future
Ready for the world about to come
