Just out of curiosity, were I to spend a week or so wandering Great Britain, do I know enough people that I could crash places rather than having to find (and thus pay for) hotels every night? Yes, I'm fishing for at least some kind of vague invitations, which is horribly gauche, although I have no idea when I might be heading that way...

Plane tickets are cheap. It's just that whole lodging thing that gets expensive... Oh, and food. But, hey, I have a reasonable handle on the whole buying beer at pubs thing, so I'm not gonna skeeve out of buying rounds for people. (That said, mm, Director's bitter. Sign me up for that.)

So, I was feeling sort of alienated earlier, and now I feel all warm and squishy (in a good way, even). 8)

My current rather vague plans involve taking as long as vacation as I can get away with (meaning probably about two weeks), potentially with jehanna, although that'll depend on what she thinks about the whole thing and her employment status and what she can get away with and so on. I loved visiting London and environs last August, and I'd like to poke around there some more (visit the Tate Modern, for example, and other things we didn't have time for last year), as well as visit other areas. eccles' spare room is an intriguing possibility, too, as that area is one I've been wanting to visit anyway (yes, his spare room. I find the spare rooms of foreign countries unspeakably fascinating).

Ideally, I can fit in as much visiting of people I know from online as possible. Turns out you guys are all over the place, which is cool for me. 8)

I guess I'll just ask more as my potential plans solidify. Right now, you've seen what they consist of so far-- "Uh, go to GB, visit people, see museums, historical sites and stuff."
