painty paint paint

Got in painting while I had the chance. There's a possibility I missed spots with the aluminum pre-treating stuff (although I mixed it extra-strong and doused the thing in it), but I really won't know until paint starts falling off... That means that once it's dried for a couple of days (5 days, it says, until completely dry, which means next weekend, probably), I'll hit it with the clear-coat and we'll see what happens. If it comes out okay, I'll have to take pictures really quickly before any paint that's going to come off does so...

The basement now gives me a headache very quickly. At least I don't have to spend much time down there. If we had a more ventilated place to keep it as it dries, I'd put it there, but we really don't...

And, of course, if it doesn't come out at all, I'll simply never mention it again. 8)

2001 Jacob's Creek Shiraz

Avid fans may recall my previous posting about the 2000 Jacob's Creek Shiraz.

This evening we partook of a bottle of Jacob's Creek 2001 Shiraz. Wine Spectator gives this an 86, as opposed to the 88 they awarded the 2000. Two points difference, in this case, means a really good 8-dollar bottle of wine rather than a really good 9-dollar bottle of wine. Either way, I'm quite happy, and Jacob's Creek remains a good reliable label.
