I don't know if "The Thing" is the best choice of movies for late at night in a house we just moved into and which is still kind of unfamiliar, but it does feature at least one pretty awesome line:

"I don't know what the hell's in there, but it's weird and pissed off, whatever it is."

This is applicable to many situations.
