New Doctor Who

solipsistnationOkay, now I can read everyone else's spoilers. Right.
My quick take: Don't really like the new theme, but it's not the worst version I've heard. The Radiophonic Workshop needs to put down the General MIDI boxes and go back to Wavestations and giant modulars and tape manipulation. Really don't like the silly DW TARDIS logo, but whatever. That goes by pretty quickly.
The show itself: Holy crap, it was fun and silly and not forced, or painfully sentimental, or packed with insulting jokes about fat people and farting. It was FUN. I laughed! I didn't wince! The bad thing and the other bad things were scary! The nod to past Doctors at the end was pretty cool. There was running around and yeah, some sort of handwavey "Are you sure that's how the internet works?" stuff, but you know, nothing painful or embarrassing. I am totally looking forward to this.
I bet the "MYTH" logo from the laptop will be important.
I saw the picture of the crack on the screen in the TARDIS and was, like, ah ha. There was a lot of foreshadowing of the season arc-- maybe a little heavy-handed. I didn't pick up on the Bad Wolf stuff in the first season until a ways in, and although I did notice the phrase showing up, I wasn't sure if it was significant or just a motif until later. With this and the "Silence will fall" stuff, it's right out there, like "HEY IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING THERE WILL BE A STORY ARC THIS SEASON." No worries, though. It's all fun.
