well, that was restful
Jul. 23rd, 2009 06:58 amI just woke up from an intense and lengthy dream that started off with watching cruise missiles streaking into Santa Cruz against a backdrop of a slowly unfolding mushroom cloud over the bay (apparently somebody nuked Monterey. I dunno, my subconscious thought it was a good idea). It was detailed enough that I watch off the balcony and then went back inside to tell people on IRC something like "we have missiles in santa cruz" and have a short conversation with people there. Then we hunkered down with my parents (who were visiting? I don't know) in the basement (of our old second-floor apartment, I guess, which didn't have a basement) and got ready to evacuate. I was trying to remember where I'd packed the Burning Man supplies since I have goggles and head scarves and things to keep from inhaling too much radioactive dust when I finally woke up. I was also worrying about the unborn baby, whether the military was going to stop people flooding the roads (I could hear cars passing so it seemed like people were moving around at least), and food and so on. It was INTENSELY detailed.
It was also kind of exhausting. That's a great way to start the day.
