Lost:

1 set of cheap Sony earbuds
1 set of not-cheap Etymotics in-ear phones. (E6's.)

These were both left on the first plane out of the US, very stupidly. This meant that once we got to Dublin I had to acquire new headphones immediately and Nikki had no headphones.

Exploded:

1 ballpoint pen in my raincoat pocket
1 ballpoint pen in my fancy-pants "I am really from London guv" jacket

Imbibed:

2 pints Guinness
1 bottle Singha
2 bottles of some Lebanese lager that I quite enjoyed
several tiny bottles of wine from Tesco
1 tiny can of "French Red Wine" from Tesco. It tasted like watery grape juice
1 bottle cheap Czech lager
1 bottle Brains SA
1 bottle Brains SA Gold (gotta see if anyone here sells this stuff. yummo.)
several pints with Culture people and [livejournal.com profile] pir
1 pint Greene Man ale in Neath
1 bottle Welsh Black Dragon cider.

I guess I fail at drunken carousing. Oh well.

Photographed in Wales:

Many sheep.

Read:

Loads of books.

Watched:

Everything on TV with Stephen Fry in it. I need to find a place to pirate "QI" and probably "Kingdom" (which may be available in a legit fashion).

Anyway. Time to eat dinner/breakfast.

Cheap hairspray gets ball point pen ink out of fabric. It dissolves it. It takes some work, and it's stinky, but if the jacket would be otherwise ruined, give it a try. Unless it's leather or otherwise unwashable. In which case bring it to a pro.

Put a basin or bin of some sort into your sink, fill with tepid water, add lots of laundry soap. Spray the ink spot liberally with hair spray (better if you get a pump bottle than aerosol; the propellant fumes will make you even loopier), scrub (an old toothbrush works), dunk in water, repeat until spot is no longer discernable.

You can get the first three series of QI on DVD from Amazon UK if you'd prefer. They're PAL and Region 2, but that should hopefully not be a problem.

Sounds like you had a good trip to me. And everyone could benefit from a bit more Stephen Fry in their life.

thebox.bz is the best place I've found for uk torrents. It's invite only most of the time though, so if you can't register ATM let me know and I'll drop you an invite.
