Twiglets.

At last, after hearing uncountable jokes about Twiglets (mostly on "Whose line is it anyway?"), I have finally acquired a bag of the elusive BritSnack.

They're, well. They're something, anyway. They taste kind of like charred goldfish crackers. They're very salty, disturbingly lumpy, and the brown stuff that lightly coats them sticks to your fingers and makes everything you touch afterward slightly tacky. (So avoid handling anything you consider tasteful or it'll be all glitter and rhinestones before you know it.) They're like the burnt bits of popcorn when you leave it in the microwave too long, except more savory.

They're... Well, I don't want to say GOOD, but they're definitely one of those things you have in a bowl next to you and then suddenly the bowl is empty and your fingers are sticky and you're not sure where they all went except that you have this TASTE in your mouth.

I simultaneously recommend both eating and avoiding them. Just make sure you know what you're getting into.

I just don't get the _burnt_ flavor.

Twiglets taste like an accident.

I'm not sure if the flavour has gotten worse or if I'm just remembering fondly but I think they used to taste a lot better in the marmite kind of way.

Well, I don't get a lot of marmite flavor, really, just burnt. Maybe I got a burny batch...

They are very excellent with a cup of tea.

I have sometimes had to lick my mouse clean if eating them whilst sat at the computer.

I used to have a cat who had the capability that, no matter where he was, he would be immediately adjacent to a recently opened bag of Twiglets in under five seconds.

They're much better when you eat them with Marmite as a dip.

Twiglets are very moreish - you don't think they're all that good, but then you can't stop eating them.

I love them, but they do not love me. Hopefully they like you better...

Must see if the UK food shop in town has any.

I've finally managed to try Irn Bru, which I quite like - that's Scottish though...
