Barack Obama reads and collects Conan the Barbarian comics.

There's some other stuff on this list, but, you know, that's a good one right there. It's good to have a president with whom I share vital interests. I mean, heck, the comic book industry may need a bail-out sometime, right? That's MUCH more important than silly old cars.

Obama is a nerd:

"Obama shook off his disappointment about Wright and kept on campaigning, though it was obvious that he was not happy burning time and money that could have been spent turning to John McCain. On May 20, the night of the primaries in Oregon (a satisfying win in a liberal state) and Kentucky (another discouraging blowout in Appalachia; he had lost West Virginia the week before by 41 points), he stood off-stage at the Des Moines Historical Society Museum in Iowa. He had wanted to go back to the state of his first great triumph to give a speech unofficially kicking off the fall campaign, even though Clinton officially was still in the race. "That's an interesting belt buckle," he said to Michelle, mischievously. She feigned offense and said, "I am interesting, next to you. Surprise, surprise, a blue suit, a white shirt and a tie." Obama grinned and bent down until he was almost at eye level with her waist. He jabbed a playful finger toward her belt buckle, and let loose his inner nerd. "The lithium crystals! Beam me up, Scotty!" Obama squeaked, laughing at his own lame joke as Michelle rolled her eyes."

I, for one, welcome our new nerd overlord.

Dude! By this point his Melee Weapons score must be off the hook! That's a good thing; we haven't had a president who was really good at close-quarters combat since Theodore Roosevelt.

But hey, no caffeine-fueled paranoid freakouts! I'm all for that in a president. 8)

AHA! As election day approached, McCain kept insisting that there was something about Barack Obama that we didn't know... that it was imperative that the American people find out who this mysterious man REALLY WAS.

His favourite meal is wife Michelle's shrimp linguini... He can speak Spanish... His favourite book is Moby-Dick by Herman Melville...

AT LAST THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Now the citizens of America can see this man for who he really is!!!

He enjoys playing Scrabble... He uses an Apple Mac laptop... His favourite artist is Pablo Picasso

My friends, [livejournal.com profile] solipsistnation the Plumber has done our country a great service by making the REAL Barack Obama known.

That Moby-Dick thing has to be a lie. Nobody enjoys Moby-Dick, much less to such an extent that he'd declare it his favorite book. :)

My high school English teacher did, and I totally believe him. He even had (thanks to an ex-student who apparently not only travelled to Nantucket but also held a job capable of paying for such things) had a harpoon hanging from the wall of the English Office in which he and my father worked.

AND he apparently once greeted Leonard Nimoy with a particular Vulcan hand gesture and "Live long and prosper."
