Wow, it's great that somebody finally did a really great next-gen adaptation of System Shock 2.

I have actually shouted "OH FUCK" or similar ejaculations of startlement out loud at least a dozen times so far, and I'm only about halfway through.

I am told this is very distracting while the young lady is attempting to do actual work.

RECOMMENDED.

Crap! I was trying to shepherd my video game budget this winter.

*sigh*

Crap x2. I'm already getting Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2, and Fallout 3. And I've been playing the MOTHER 3 fan translation, too.

Fortunately I can put Dead Space last on my queue since I hate scary games. But I should still probably play it.

Well, I should probably point out that my original post was blatant trolling, but the games are pretty similar... There's no Shodan, but you do get the giant weird biological thingies. There's not as much character-stuff RPG-like depth, but there's a whole lot of creepy and some equipment modification through rare supplies doled out more-or-less as rewards for doing stuff. Video and audio recordings tell the story, and there you go. If you took Dead Space and Bioshock and squooshed them together you'd come out with a straight-up port of System Shock 2.

Also, I've just finished doing stuff in engineering, then headed up to do stuff in hydroponics, and now I'm doing stuff in food storage. It FEELS like SS2, as far as that goes...

Also, this is another "hey, shut up you idiot" point to be made to those people who say EA never does anything original and good.

There are convincing rumours that the project originated as System Shock 3.

Oh really? Where'd you read those? I'd believe it-- the feel is so similar in places...

Ah ha, I poked around. Looks like it probably didn't actually, although it is plausible.

On the other hand, there's a good chance that Starbreeze Studios ARE working on System Shock 3 in secret...

Sweet, Riddick was one of my favourite Xbox games, although The Darkness was a touch disappointing. I'm a bit worried about the fate of Riddick remake after the ActiBlizzard merger.
