For the first time since Guitar Hero came out, I have managed a 100% totally perfect song, earning me 5 gold stars and everything, on Expert difficulty. Of course, it took, uh, six games to get this far. And it's the total simplest song I've ever seen in any of these games on Expert, "We Got The Beat" by the Go-Gos. And I got it on the first time even playing the song, too. It's all 8th notes, and hardly anything complicated at all the whole song. No hammers, no funky shuffly rhythms anywhere, no 3-finger chords, just 1 or 2 notes at once, and if you've managed to master the up-and-down metronome strum bar technique, it's totally simple. But still, it's about time.

This means, I guess, that I am one step closer to being That Guy. Oh well.

Also Stalker: Clear Sky is pretty decent, if very very hard and unforgiving.

Yeah, for me it was 'Today'. I can't get the metronome strum as quick as 'Got The Beat' wants you to get it. 'Today' however, was simple, with enough walking that I could reset my fingers.

Yeah, I think so too... Mostly the starter songs have been pretty simple... I like the chance to make a "simple random set," too, so you don't get, say, "easy song 1," "easy song 2," and then just when you're feeling pretty awesome for doing well on them, "Blackened."

The up-down metronome strum is really my strong point. I can play bass like that forever. It's when it goes from 8th notes to 16th notes that I start to break down. I can even get the quick triplet fills in usually, but not the long fast bits.

So if I'm putting together a band for the express purpose of covering, say, "Lucretia My Reflection", you're my man. :)
