... So, I'd been meaning to ask you for a while about the Gymnoblastics, and this Edelweiss post reminded me to do so. So, tonight I'm out to dinner with a high school friend, and we're talking about Facebook/MySpace of all mundane things, and he mentioned that one of the guys from Gymnoblastics had friended him. Strange, that.
Yes, I do! In fact, I was just going through old stuff and found them again. (They went into the "Tapes to save" box.)
I have no idea when I'll have time to sit down and put them online, and I don't have a dual tape deck any more (man, remember when that was COOL? I miss mix tapes. Mix CDs and stacks of mp3s are cool and all, but nothing compares to the care that went into a good mix tape), but I do have a decent single deck and audio hardware... I just need a couple of uninterrupted hours...
Mixed CDs just aren't the same. You mention, the care, yes. there is also the issue that a tape couldn't be "shuffled", meaning that one always experienced the tape in the same sequence, building little connections...
