passing The Test of Dancing Waters.

My fountain was so awesome, it passed in one week.

If you see it in action, the double bonds in the rings and to the oxygens are set up as water shooting back and forth... The entire design took about a week to sort out and build the basins, and then about a week of planning, testing, and tweaking the programming. The fountain design interface is, like all the interfaces in ATITD, fantastically limited and complex at the same time. Here is the test description from the wiki, complete with material costs and the original discussion of how it was implemented. Here is a tutorial with descriptions of the parameters and how the design interface works (or doesn't).

I put a lot of work into this, but I really expected that, like most art tests in ATITD, this would be a long crawl toward an eventual pass months down the road, with lots of begging for votes and trying to get people to visit. I'm amazed that it passed so quickly (or, really, at all, although there are some super lame fountains out there). I even got random people sending me chats saying they thought it was cool. Overall, well, I'm thrilled!

...and now to finish some other stuff, as Tale 3 winds toward its eventual conclusion...
