I know... This is from 1950/51 (according to engraving on the movement), so I'm sure it's from long after the actual Waltham plant closed.

Every two weeks there's an outdoor street antique fair in Santa Cruz. This is the first time I've had a chance to go and wander around and actually look at stuff there (the first time I was there on the right day we were on the way to a movie and had about five minutes).

Turns out there's a watch dude there. He had a bunch of very nice watches and was pretty chatty. This is actually the second I picked up-- he had a little military-style automatic on a steel mesh band that I actually bought and then discovered was broken (while winding it on the way back to the car). He was nice about giving me my money back, even though I really should have checked that first... So, I found this one.
