The data sheet referenced there is impressive. The summary is "This is very dangerous shit. It will burn through your pipes, your walls, and your gloves to get at your flesh. Then it will burn and poison you too." Rarely have I seen "challenging" used so understatedly
Growing up a friends dad was a laser photochemist. He worked in thsi big building at the University. Every time it caught fire all the fire fighters would show up. Park. Find out what lab the fire was in. Pull out a BIG book of what's in the lab, and how to put it out. Then proceed.
I recall looking out my dorm room window one morning to see many fire trucks and lots of men in bright green Weeble suits -- the sort that inflate from a tank carried *inside* the suit, to maintain positive pressure in case the suit leaks.
Turns out a canister of bromine had fallen over and the regulator broke off. Not my idea of a good time -- though I was very glad I was on the third floor.
