Here are pictures of the new place... The distant land visible across the water is the Monterey Peninsula.

I am tired of sitting on the floor; I would like a couch and/or comfy chairs of some sort.

We do have a couple of nice kitcheny chairs, but no loungey chairs. They're in the storage units, which we won't be able to have dropped off for another week or so, and which are going to take some wrangling as there isn't much in the way of flat space around here.

I've been internetting a lot lately, since I'm trying to get adjusted to the off schedule and if I go to bed too early I'll wake up early and get tired early the next day and so on. I did just have a nice 3-day weekend, though. It just would have been nicer with, you know, something to sit on.

Is that Empire Grade that you're looking at in the fourth picture?

If so, I used to jog up that on saturday mornings, starting on beach hill, and going until I ran out of steam, which was usually right about the stile maybe six hundred yards east of the north entrance. :-)

Yeah, that's the West Entrance. The cars are because the Santa Cruz Shakespeare show had just let out.

mostly silent, except on friday morning (when the people downstairs took a trip to funky town) and on friday afternoon (when the people next to us got in touch with their inner goths).

the loudest thing so far is actually people's children playing out in the parking lot. and that's not very constant.

oh, and if you have the balcony door open, you can sometimes hear cows moo. again, not very constant.

I think that if I look hard enough from somewhere in my apartment, I can probably see a mountain. Or maybe 2.
