I don't see why people complain about Nebraska. Yeah, there's not a lot there, but I could totally live under that sky.

Hot tub acquired. Muscles less achey. Dinner acquired, with beer. Now lounging. Hotel full of high school kids, so we got double beds instead of queen-sized. Foo.

Pigs are holding up pretty well. Mr. B hides under the blanket the whole time. If you go look under it and poke lettuce up in there, he devours it. Ping-Pong sits and looks out the door, and may even be looking out the window. They're both pretty cheerful, since they don't have to move and get stuffed full of food. I'm sure they'll be happy to be running around when we get there, though.

Tomorrow should be similar, and I hear that speed limits are high all the way through Nevada. Yeah. US50 here we come!

I always thought it was the endless fields of corn that you have to drive through. There was even a song about that on Animaniacs...

The fields of corn were all little sprouts this early in the summer. There are definitely loads of fields, though.

I <3 Nebraska too!

Lots of fond childhood memories.

My last memory of Nebraska last time I was there, though, was leaving it amid a dust storm. tumbleweeds seemed to have it out for me. One jumped out of the irrigation ditch next to the highway and hurdled itself right for my moving vehicle, broadsiding it. My mother and I scream, laughed, had another memory together. (Better than the panicked screaming in West Virginia a few days earlier, that's for sure!...)

I think that if all you were interested in was sky, you'd be very happy in Nebraska.

However, if you need something other than sky, you might need to live somewhere else.

I felt much the same way about Montana. Lots of sky in Montana.

So maybe this is just me..

but why would the high school kids need the queen beds?
