We're down to the last fiddly bits of stuff. I am not very excited by this. This is the part of moving that I really hate... We need more bubblewrap, more tiedowns, maybe even a few more boxes. We need another couple of hours. We should have been at this point earlier today or even yesterday, but the containers showed up at almost 5 rather than at 11 like we'd been told.
I'm doing the dishes. I have been for a while. Most of them are packed, so again, it's down to the fiddly bits. Oh, and a cupboard full of really delicate stuff, which is why we need the bubble wrap.
The containers will hold just about enough. We're ditching a few more things at Goodwill. I think it's all stuff I got there or for free anyway, so onward turns the circle of life. I just have to make sure we hook everything down so it doesn't move around on its journey...
It also appears that I've been signed up for eating half a pound(!) of vegan "jerky" (Stonewall's Jerquee, teriyaki flavor) a day. We found a place where you can order a 5-pound institutional wholesale sack of it, and thought that would make a nice snack for the car.
stophittinyrslf has decided that we need to eat the whole thing on the drive. So, half a pound a day, each. I'm not sure this is a good idea.
Plus earlier today I managed to severly damage an Ikea bookshelf by crushing it between one of the containers and my mighty pubic bone. Rawr. Crush crush. (Ow. What a bad way to carry that.)

Date: 2007-05-31 12:35 pm (UTC)this is despite the fact that i regularly do stuff like squirt sriracha sauce directly out of the bottle and into my mouth. i think my high tolerance is due to the fact i got an early start on eating things that normally upset people's stomachs. my stomach will probably not even notice the jerky.
josh, on the other hand... well, my money's not on him completing the challenge.
