Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl is the best game I've played since Thief. No, really. This is the game I've been waiting for, I think-- it certainly is more of what I've been waiting for than almost anything I can think of since then. (Including Half-Life 2 and Oblivion.)

I finished it tonight, 3 times, to see different endings... There are others, I'm pretty sure, based on behavior and so on and the state you're in when you [spoiler spoiler spoiler]. The best ending requires the most work.

I'm also pretty sure there are things I haven't seen, even though I'm very thorough with my exploration. There's just so much... Plus having guys shooting at me tends to kind of distract from the in-depth poking around I like to do.

Well, be warned that it will beat the heck out of your hardware and has some mysterious bugs... Plus it's very hard and totally unforgiving. Go back a few posts in my LJ, though, and read the review to which I linked...
