Spooks? I heard that was still on, but haven't followed it since the end of series two.

It continues to be good during season 3 (plus [SPOILER] happens, which I guess you could see coming), is merely okay for the rest of season 3 and season 4, and is pretty decent again for season 5 so far.

I do spent a lot of time shouting at the screen, though.

Is it season three when Tom leaves? The BBC "season" system still eludes me to an extent, so I've never figured out if it's season two or season three when he splits, if it was three, I've seen through the end of it and was pissed enough by how Zoe and Danny were treated that I stopped watching, though I may pick it back up again.

Well, they plan to make a certain number of shows and call that a season. Usually it's 6, but if a show is popular, it'll be 10 or 13 or so. So usually the first season of a new show is 6 and then they make more later...

And yeah, boy. Danny and Zoe have a REALLY GREAT TIME in season 4. Eek.

Hrm. I wonder if I've seen through the end of season four then, since I definitely saw their REALLY GREAT TIME. That was, like, almost two years ago though, was there a hiatus in production for a while or something?

"Series" (seasons) for a BBC show don't align to consecutive years, either. A hiatus for production is par for the course. They do those 6,9,13 episodes whenever they can coordinate cast and staff, leading to e.g. the 8 series of Red Dwarf taking 11 years (and there still could be a ninth).

Yeah, that's kind of the impression I'd gathered, but up until a year or two ago, I'd never followed BBC shows enough to really notice it, much less understand it entirely.
