So, I've been having a plantar's wart removed from my left heel. This is gross, and lthough it seems to be working, I didn't wait long enough the first time around and the wart came back and now I'm having it removed again. It's not too bad, just frustrating and painful.

I've noticed a somewhat disconcerting side effect of this treatment. Every two weeks, I endure a painful freeze treatment, which makes my foot hurt for several days or for as long as a week. Since it's my heel, I end up walking around on my toes. I also put cream on my foot right before going to bed, so my pre-bedtime activities are also performed while walking around on my toes.

Today while rubbing my sore calf muscles, I realize that, as of right now, they're much larger than they were a year or so ago, when I was lamenting the loss of my mighty walkin' muscles since getting a desk job and not walking to work every day.

That's right, a year of walking around on my toes 4 or 5 days out of every 14 and for an hour or so each evening has made my calves firm and muscular and, like, totally ripped. The rest of me is still just as pasty and squishy as always, but not my calves! Grar. Fear my mighty muscley gams.

Hee! I got mighty gams the year I lived on Riley 4th - lots of stairs make for great calves! My sister (a long distance runner) was SO JEALOUS. Given that she's always been stick thin and I was usually the one jealous of her figure, that was an awesome side benefit. :-D

I can commiserate with you on the warts -- they suck.

You're a pretty, pretty ballerina. I mean, I thought that before you told me this, too, though.

Just sayin'.

Sexy!

I tend to find well defined calf muscles to be very sexy. So, yay you!

I went to Anaheim this weekend for a conference, and Erin R (remember her?) and I went to Target where I bought some shoes . I'm used to needing to break in new shoes, and these felt great on my feet, so I thought I was golden. I woke up this morning with SUPER ACHING CALVES so perhaps I too am on the way to lower leg sexiness...

From someone who has had several planters warts removed, I suggest getting it cut out*, purely from the pain perspective. I've never had liquid nitrogen on my foot, but I had it on my thumb... and yeah... that was PAINFUL. I can only imagine it being worse on a foot.

*warning: find a reputable doctor. I've had warts removed by 2 doctors. One was a quack who seemed more into money then anything else (regular follow up visits for atleast 2 months, guaranteed the wart to be gone after he was done, and I coudln't drive for atleast the first week because of the pain and bandaging).

The other doctor did far less evasive surgery (in office, with a scalpel that resembled more of a small mellon baller then a knife). He guaranteed nothing, but after he re-removed the wart that the other guy failed to, it hasn't come back. Also, his surgery healed MUCH quicker and was much less painful.
