Feb. 20th, 2006 10:48 amPostPunkJunk has become my favorite mp3 blog-- loads of really great and very obscure music there, and almost all of it is worth downloading and listening to.
It's made me think about setting one up myself-- complete with RSS feed and maybe podcasting-type crap. I certainly have enough random rare or obscure music kicking around. And if he can do it, maybe I can!
Of course, it would be time, effort, wah wah wah. I'd have to get around to encoding a bunch of vinyl, which I find really tedious but which I really ought to do sometime, while I still have working record players. (Yep, multiple. Bought one, dumpster-dived one. The dumpster-dived one is actually better than the one I bought, although neither is particularly amazing. But dood, now I can totally DJ.)
So, I dunno. If I were to set up an mp3 blog of some sort, who would listen? I'd probably spend a lot of time with the early-90's Boston industrial scene, maybe hit random old synthpop, dig through compilations and tapes and stuff. Who knows? I figure I probably have an audience of some sort, as long as I let people know...
I shall consider. Perhaps I will look into Apple's iLife '06 iWeb thing, just because I really don't want to have to do any work myself. Either that or my mostly unused Blogger site...
