I have roughly 22 file boxes full of graphic novels and comic collections, plus six long-boxes, plus a handful more of random issues and things too large to fit in boxes (Curse you Chris Ware!).

That's a heck of a lot of comics, for sure. I hadn't realized there were that many, but I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised.

We were feeling some despair that all the books wouldn't fit on the four bookcases from last weekend. Now that I've separated out the comics from the Real Books, it looks like we're pretty close to being able to fit the books on the shelves. Of course, now I need someplace to hold all the comics...

Storage shed. Portable hole. YUOR MOM!!1!1!

Heh. I feel your pain, though. I can't wait till I can live somewhere that has room to put up shelves to store all this beading crap.

even if you totally hollowed his mom out, she wouldn't hold very many comics. :[

But that involves logic! No good!

(or something.)

Yay, comicses!

I've got my TPBs pretty well gathered up in one of the bookshelves here in my basement cave. What I really need to do is re-arrange the packing of stuff in my supplemental stuff area so that my short and long boxes of individual issues are in the most accessible corner instead of the most inaccessible corner.

I mean, what if I had to look up which of the Demons Three bit it in "Swamp Thing" #50? (This topic actually came up in conversation last night, by way of the "The Balance" ep of JLU.)

Not to be the random guy who makes a lengthy reply to someone he doesn't know in the livejournal of someone he doesn't know, but is that the issue where Swamp Thing, Etrigan, Dr. Fate et al ride into the abyss on the backs of lesser devils, the Spectre gets his ass kicked by the great darkness, and Swampy comes to terms with the reciprocal nature of good and evil?

What a good fucking book.

[I watched JLU for the first time the other night. First three episodes of season 3 - including "Kid Stuff". Was bracing for impact all the way through, but once Baby Etrigan hit the scene, I came to terms with its greatness.]

I recommend a large walk in closet just off your bedroom. It'll nicely store about 14 long boxes, as well as most everything else you need stored...

The problem being the fact that none of them are organized or labeled and that anytime you get a hankerin' to read an old series (if only to remind you of how good it was, and how it devolved into suckage so you dropped it) you get to shift all the boxes, and hunt around up and down and all over.

Oh, wait, that's my room.

I feel for you, it's awkward to store those unless you happen upon a lucky arrangement in your apt.

*laugh* I have another friend who is planning on selling their house, and are moving large numbers of things into storage. He has currently *80* boxes of comics in storage, which don't include the piles he still has lying around his house.

I've run out of places for long boxes. I've got 6 in storage in our basement, 2 sitting out in the bedroom, and 5 more back home at my parents (who very much want them out of the house).

I think I've come up witha a plan to handle the local ones, but shy of moving I've got no place for all of them

My current potential plan involves not longboxes, but rather lots and lots of little plastic cubes from Ikea...
