"Good Idea" sounds really a lot like Bob Mould wanted to be the Pixies.

Consciously a Pixies pastiche/homage, apparently. He, after all, had been a very major influence on them.

Somewhere I have an old Musician interview between Bob and Black Francis, and it's pretty much a mutual admiration society (even if Francis does spend most of his time praising Hüsker Dü's "Green Eyes", which was a Grant Hart song rather than one of Bob's). So yeah, when I heard "A Good Idea", I took it as a very intentional homage.

Yeah, i always thought the lyrics were rather un-Mouldian, but it makes sense when seen as a Black Francis homage.

Sugar kicks so much ass. Malcolm Travis is an incredible drummer.
