live, first test

The first thing I've made with Live, mostly while figuring out how things like audio recording work, featuring a variety of free AU and VST plugins, a couple of Apple Loops, and my recorded guitar debut (playing the Fake Les Paul, although you can hardly tell what it is). I don't know how much more exciting this could get without being, you know, an actual song instead of a minute and a half of semi-atmospheric noodling.

how do I import audio files into reason?

You can't very easily... Reason is mostly for sequencing. You can load them into the sampler instrument, though, if you just want to play them back like that. I've done that for a couple of things.

This one was all Ableton Live, which I'm really enjoying so far...

hmm. so the effects and reverb etc are only for the sequenes on reason? that;s lousy.
It won't let me import midi either.

Well, if you've got the soundfile in the sampler, you can play it and apply effects that way...

And you should be able to import MIDI by choosing "Import MIDI File..." under the File menu. I've done that before, and it should then break it up by channels and so on and set it up in the sequence window.

yer but, there is no import midi file option there. possibly because it claims I ahve no midi equipment installed. Weirdness.

Hm. Which version of Reason are you using? Is it older or a demo or something?

And thanks... It's really minimal, and the guitar took foreeeever to get anywhere near right, but it's got nice parts. 8)
