T-Mobile was hacked. No, really.

A sophisticated computer hacker had access to servers at wireless giant T-Mobile for at least a year, which he used to monitor U.S. Secret Service e-mail, obtain customers' passwords and Social Security numbers, and download candid photos taken by Sidekick users, including Hollywood celebrities, SecurityFocus has learned.

Eeeeeek.

I think I wkould be pretty pissed if I were a T-Mobile customer. I can't believe the secret service would be stupid enough to send classified information without encryption.

Having actually worked with classified information, I am surprised. You wouldn't believe the stupid restrictions we had on event the most trivial of classified data - sending it over a wireless network at ALL is almost unthinkable.

Of course, the secret service may just be dumber than Lincoln Labs. They don't have to worry about getting shut down for violations, after all.
