WPI has a new major: "Interactive Media and Game Design." It's very neat.

And it has somewhat different requirements from the typical computer science degree.

And, as it turns out, I'm significantly closer to a degree in IMGD than I am to anything to do with full-scale computer science. Like, by a year's worth of classes or so.

Maybe I should change my major and see if I can finish this one. At least it's something I find endlessly fascinating, and I'd get to take classes where I pontificate about computer games. Geeking for credit!

You should definitely go with that major! It would be like living the dreaaam. The only possible downside would be the job market after you graduate. But I get the feeling that you have a vast knowledge of all things computer related so even if game development jobs are scarce I think you'd survive. :D

That major seems to be turning up as the next new thing at schools now. I just got a flyer from a local college in the mail the other day advertising that same new major.
