Here are games currently under development that I am anticipating greatly:
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl
Sid Meier's Pirates! (the new one, coming out soon)
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
The Bard's Tale (the new one, which I hear is pretty decent)
...and I guess that Half-Life 2 thing I keep hearing about.
Huh, this says a lot about the game industry at the moment, I think. Of six games, one of them is an entirely original concept, two are sequels, two are updated remakes of some sort, and one is a licensed property (although one that hasn't been exploited much in the past).

Date: 2004-11-07 01:44 pm (UTC)And still Sid Meier, who basically wanted to update his old game to be basically the same thing but moreson. Grand Theft Galleon! Open-ended! Exploration! RPG-like bits! Broadside ship-to-ship combat! Swordfights! Romance! Lots of saying "Arrrrrrrrr" and grimacing piratically!
Should be out in the next couple of months-- the previews are piling up and it looks like they're down to final testing.

Date: 2004-11-08 06:16 am (UTC)I haven't even had time to finish playing the last one (though, admittedly I did wait til the full compliment of game + expansions was all for $30).
I'll probably get it, they did redeem themselves for Elder Scrolls II: Buggerfall.
The pirate game sounds good, I remember the original (vaguely).
I'm surprised they are doing a cthulhu game, I hope it's not lame.
No 10x10 rooms with 99 barbarians 99 barbarians 99 barbarians and 99 barbarians? What fun is that?
