They seem to be pretty common now-- look for GE "Reveal" brand, which claim to be full-spectrum bulbs and do certainly cast a very different light from typical incandescents.
Hm. I haven't seen a single fitting or adaptor thing, but I do have a floor lamp with five sockets for bulbs on the ends of long bendy arms.
Of course, I put white lights in two of them and blue in the other three, and pointed the blue ones at the ceiling. It's actually a very pleasant effect.
Do be careful of the use of full spectrum bulbs outside of the hours your body is expecting light. You can utterly screw up your clock by having your body thing it's still 'light' out at, say, 3AM. :)

Date: 2004-11-06 04:51 pm (UTC)We have one. (Because we have ONE BAYONET FITTING IN THE WHOLE DAMN FLAT.) It's quite good.
I am keeping an eye out for a lamp fitting that takes five 60W bulbs. I may have to construct one myself.
