tea flower
Oct. 21st, 2004 11:08 amWhere once you floated in green-tinted glass
while I sipped your sweet vegetal nectar,
now you rest wilted and damp at the bottom of my cup.
All warmth fled; all flavor absorbed into the water
that suspended you in light
your expanding petals made large by curvature and refraction
now shrunken pale and limp in cooling repose.
