BUCKAROO BANZAI:
See, by all accounts, it appears as though I literally went right
through a mountain. But you could take that mountain, and _pulverize_
	it...

BUCKAROO BANZAI slams rock down on table.

BUCKAROO BANZAI:
... and sift through it like breadcrumbs for the rest of your natural
life, and you would never, ever, find.... THIS.

BUCKAROO BANZAI pulls cover from a large beaker containing a young man
apparantly clad only in his underwear, with some kind of white cap
pulled down over his hair. His hands are tucked up under his armpits
as if he were trying to flap them like chicken wings, and he is crouching
on his haunches and looking up at BUCKAROO BANZAI as if expecting to
be beaten. The audience gasps in horror and surprise.

BUCKAROO BANZAI:
And yet, this... sort of... chicken boy... thing... who goes by the name
"Squeezit"-- came from out of that basement, even though I was never
        inside that basement!

-- excerpted from a pre-production script for "Buckaroo Banzai: Adventures Through The Sixth Dimension," co-written by Earl Mac Rauch and Richard Elfman, with music by Danny Elfman and the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo.

The final musical number, featuring a lenghty jam session/fight scene between the Devil (played by Danny Elfman) and his horn section and the Hong Kong Cavaliers, must be read to be believed.

But indeed, it's only a little bit more surreal than what actually ended up on celluloid. :)

Shoot, you're right. I'm going to have to remember that next time I'm naming a machine.

I'm wondering if this was inspired by this news (also found on LJ as [livejournal.com profile] mm_rss).

Indeed. We watched it last night and found it... edifying.

Edifying is perhaps not the word I would have picked...

I see Verne Troyer in the role of Buckaroo's archnemesis, King Fausto Lizardo.

Evil, pure and simple, from the Sixth Dimension!
