having seen slice three times now, i can see with confidence that he and his band sounded the best i've ever heard them live. add this to all the cool hey-john-vanderslice-remembers-us bonus features (we got to stay in the middle east after it closed, he snuck one of our friends who was underaged in, he talked about the baked goods we brought him on stage, and lots of other nice stuff. he's really the super nicest guy ever) and the mountain goats rocking as hard as they did, and it was overall one of the best shows i've seen.
