I was on 15mg of Ritalin 3 times a day. This worked quite well.
Concerta is time-release ritalin-- 12 hours worth, in a double-layer package. It's a big fat pill, a layer of medication wrapped around an osmotic pump. It's basically a gel with medication suspended in it. Water passes through the gel and it slowly leaches out into your system. The idea is that it takes a while, though, so you get a long-term drug supply in a single package.
Three weeks ago, 54mg Concerta: Massive anxiety, tooth-grinding, jaw-clenching, unhappy. Frantic and worried.
Dropped to 36mg for two weeks. Decent. Levelled out. Didn't quite control the ADD symptoms in question, but kept me pretty decently happy overall. Noticably working, but not as much as 15mg of ritalin 3 times a day.
Today: Back to 54mg to see if I've acclimatized to it.
The first thing I notice is that I am TOTALLY grooving today. I haven't listened to Speedy J's G-Spot in a couple of years, but daaaamn, it's an amazing piece of music, and now I remember why I loved it so much after I first heard it. Lovely layers, and the sorts of semi-unexpected chord progressions that I like in my electronica.
Interesting feelings, yes indeed.
