I AM A MEMEMONGER! PHEAR MY MAD MEME-CREATION SKILLZ.

Sort playlist by name. Which songs are named after years? In my music collection:

  • 1959
  • 1963
  • 1969
  • 1969 (a different band this time!)
  • 1974
  • 1978
  • 1984

Bonus points to anyone who knows who did most of those songs. (You know who you are. *cough*[livejournal.com profile] the_muted_horn*cough*)

i've only got boards of canada's "1969" and meat beat manifesto's "1979".

although gorillaz's "19-2000" might count, just not quite so directly.

Yeah, there's another 1969, although the version I have here is a cover.

Well, that's the only one I own! The others were those little tiny bells ringing in the back of my head, which I always know it's best to ignore. ;-)

Hmmm. "1959" is The Sisters of Mercy, "1963" is New Order, "1969" is The Stooges (original) and The Sisters of Mercy (cover), "1974" is Robyn Hitchcock, and "1984" is David Bowie. How'm I doing so far? :-)

I don't recognise "1978", though: should I?

Lessee... from my own collection, I can add another (entirely different, not a cover) "1984", plus "1979", "1917" and "1916". And I know of, but don't own, a song entitled "2112". Oh, and let's also add "1999": duh!

(nit-picking)

The Zager/Evans song is actually titled "In The Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)", so strictly speaking it doesn't count. Same with the Eurythmics track, which is titled "Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)".
