something old, something new

solipsistnationWhile watching something familiar this afternoon during the Macworld keynote, I thought I spotted something odd. I didn't think much of it, though, until I downloaded the movie and took a closer look.
Sure enough, I spotted something new. In fact, once you notice it, it becomes totally obvious.
Apple created one icon, and have since created others. Here, without fanfare, they've combined the oldest and the most recent-- it's a fitting tribute to the 20 year anniversary of the Macintosh, although I'm glad that some things remained unchanged.
(Note: I know that the Apple II is older than the Mac, and while I loved it as much as anyone, and probably more than most [let's not examine that too closely, either, please], it didn't have quite the same impact as the Mac.)
