Okay, so I don't usually do the "list [foo] that [bar]" memes, but I'm in that kind of mood. (This one's via [livejournal.com profile] midorigrrrl, who I'm not sure if I actually know or not.)

Reminds you of ex lovers:

Brian Eno: Another Green World
Brian Joseph.
The Breeders: "Drivin' on 9"
10,000 Maniacs: "Trouble Me"
Shriekback: "Faded Flowers"

Makes you cry:

Not much, although "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits can really get me if I'm in the right mood.

Makes you smile:
Makes you laugh:
[I think I'll skip these. since I dunno.]

You never want to hear again:

Most Weird Al. Sorry, he's kind of a one-shot for me. Funny once, and then I'm done. That's true of most of that kind of thing...

Reminds you of your childhood:

Folk music. Arlo Guthrie. Peter, Paul and Mary. Pete Seeger.

Sums up your teenage years:

Depeche Mode. Devo.

You want to get married to:

We played Dead Can Dance and Shriekback and some other stuff. Does that count?

You like to wake up to:

Nothing, really.

This wasn't included, but it's a better question:

You like to fall asleep to:

Brian Eno: Another Green World and the b-side to Before and After Science
Pieter Nooten and Michael Brook: Sleeps with the Fishes
Brian Eno (and others): Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks
Brian Eno and Harold Budd: The Pearl and Plateaux of Mirror
hOEDH: Hymnus
...lots more. I have lots of sleepy music.

You like out of your parents record collection:

Arlo Guthrie. Pete Seeger. I kinda like PP+M, but got a little tired of them.

You love but you wouldn't know about if it wasn't for a friend:

Robyn Hitchcock. Wire, and especially Wire side projects like He Said and A.C.Marias.
David Bowie, of course. Lots of others.
[livejournal.com profile] the_muted_horn is responsible for much of this, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting.

You love the video more than the tune:

Nothing that comes to mind, which is mostly due to not watching a lot of videos lately.

Reminds you of your first crush:

Old Pet Shop Boys. Introspective, in particular.

Or "Sister Christian" by, I think, Night Ranger. Oh the shame. Sixth-grade slow-dancing...

Makes you think of sex:

Pretty much everything, with a few exceptions.

Makes you think of being alone:

Plateaux of Mirror

Are (almost) embarrassed to admit you like:

Freakin' t.A.T.u. So catchy! I am filled with shame.

You love to sing:

Skinny Puppy: "Worlock" Lots of other things. Basically everything. "Boss Drum," by the Shamen. Awyeah.

reminds me of exes: Hüsker Dü and Loreena McKennitt (now there's an interesting juxtaposition)

makes me think about crying: Bob Mould's "Thumbtack"

never want to hear again: Eminem

like to wake up to: Tony Geballe's Native of the Rain

get married to: Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide". Kind of odd given that it's a song written after a fight, but there you have it.

love the video more than the tune: that Fatboy Slim video where Christopher Walken dances. The song is very pedestrian... without the video, it's nothing.

think of sex: Pink Floyd's The Division Bell

love to sing: when i'm driving, Soundgarden's "Ty Cobb"

ahem...

Well, yes, but there's always the chance we've met at some point anyway. 8)

yes, there is indeed a chance. it seems that gweep circles are incestuous in that way. oh, that's right, i am not a gweep-er?

allow me introduce myself properly:

i am virginia. i first met [livejournal.com profile] greybar at ManRay many years ago. we dated for a very short period of time (so, short i don't even remember) but still were friends afterward. then i met the marlborough crowd and made fast friends with [livejournal.com profile] kendo_motoko(who doesn't live in marlborough but is guilty by association) over our mutual obsession for DM. oh, and i am currently dating(for what seems like the long haul) with GM [livejournal.com profile] fiddichwhore . he doesn't like having his name revealed. i think he's ashamed of his downfall with me! Well, okay. 8) I don't think I have actually met you then, unless it was just briefly. We are, however, heavily linked.

And I believe I know who [livejournal.com profile] fiddichwhore is, name revealed or not, although I'm not sure he'd remember me from long, long long ago.
