bad internet shopping experience
Nov. 12th, 2003 02:56 pmwww.cheese.com appears to be staffed by morons (barring the now-similarly-annoyed customer service guy who has the misfortune to be between me and the people who have managed to hold up my order by an extra week).
NOT recommended. Go with igourmet.com or something for your mail-order fancy cheese needs.
cheese.com's gift certificate system appears to be very messed up, too, to the point where nobody actually knows what to do with gift certificate orders.
Plus, they used to be just www.cheesesupply.com, but appear to have acquired the cheese.com domain. This annoys me, since cheese.com used to be a non-commercial(!) site devoted to an in-depth list of cheeses, with descriptions, ingredients, types of milk and so on, as well as recommended wines and things. That useful list is now gone, replaced with their commercial sales site.
Anyway, I am pissed off now. I was hoping to have nice cheese last weekend. I was then hoping to have nice cheese today. I am now hoping to have nice cheese tomorrow, or, perhaps, Friday. Gurm.
