the beginning of the end of the end.

The first truck day is upon me, thanks to Tracker. He will be arriving soon, and we will pile his truck high with heavy large things and move them to the new place. My house slowly empties around me. Soon it will be just me and my laptop and scattered stuff that I will gather into boxes. FInally, the house will be empty and we will be gone.

As of next Tuesday, the 15th, it will be three years exactly since we signed an inch-thick stack of papers and I drove over in the middle of the day to roam around this place that was MINE, and OURS. Now it's going to belong to somebody else, who will change it all around (they've been having a contractor visit to take measurements and make plans). After the 28th, it won't be mine any more. It'll belong to a retired couple with the same plans we had when we moved in-- live here and not move again. Maybe they'll have a better time of it.

I can catch hovering mosquitoes in my hand.

And by "catch" I mean "crush." There is no escape from my startlingly zippy reflexes.

I can also wash my hands. A lot.

- couch number 2
- couch number 3 (futony. up for grabs if anyone wants a fairly nice futon couchy thing, but you have to come get it.)
- chest of drawers 2 (big!)
- stove
- 2 carpets (rolled, can fit in car if need be)
- smaller futon chair thing
- several more little tabley things
- bedside tables (2, can fit in car)
- bed
- bookshelves (3, going to Don)
- one more kitchen-type chair

So, by volume, I'm about 1/3 done.

Then I just have to pick up all the little fiddly things you find after all the furniture is moved. Ick. I'm putting clothes in bags to take to goodwill, too. I suspect there will be a few items of furniture going there, too. Excitement for all involved.

Mostly, though, I just want to sit on the (remaining) couch and listen to airplanes in the distance and the occasional passing car. It's warm here. I don't want to move. Maybe I'll take a nap.
