The pipes make funny noises. They didn't last year, or the year before. Plus, it doesn't build up any pressure. It used to hover around 20psi while running, and now it doesn't get above 5ish. This sounds like air in the system. Our contract covers this (yay!) so I'm home waiting for the furnace guy to show up and mess with it and make it happy again.

While I wait, I'm collating email exchanges and sorting them so I can present them at a campus hearing board Thursday evening. I'm so thrilled to be able to relive these experiences over and over again. At least, with any luck, Thursday will be the last of him.

When I'm done, I plan to spend the afternoon unwinding doing calming things like installing a new kerberos server. I have leftover lasagne, plus dinner plans involving lots of friends and a strawberry-rhubarb pie.

I sold some stuff on eBay. I still want to sell the tiny black guitar, since I'd rather have a telecaster. I was considering going out and looking for one sometime soon, but I'm not sure if I really can. The budget is tightening. I hope [livejournal.com profile] jehanna's interview goes well today.

Blah. Back to email and writing things up...

PSYCHO

PSYCHO

PSYCHOSLAPHEAD

[insert generic house hits here]

(Psychoslaphead is somehow related to the guy from Juno Reactor. I don't know if it's him under a different name, or if it's a side project or if he just produces them or what, but his name is on the CD...)

hm.

iTunes appears to think I don't have enough glow sticks and beats in my life. First Psychoslaphead, now this.

I know I shoulda worn my baggy trousers today. Time to hit the e...

Mmmm, heavily chorused PWM trance lead.

The valve that keeps it automatically filled with water when the automatic air-bleed valve lets air out was broken. The furnace guy replace a bunch of fiddly pipe bits and refilled the system with water.

Then he said the magic words: "That's all under contract, so you're all set." Yay!

MBV

I convinced a friend (who I know will buy the CD if he likes something) to listen to My Bloody Valentine. He's got Loveless on now. I get this email:

hey, neat. MBV has started, and sounds really good. it's kinda like Band
of Susans, as the obvious accent is on the music and not the vocal mix.
i'll dig up a lyric sheet. one thing that i'm not hearing any of so far
(though it's only the first song) is bass drum, nor much tom. there's
bass during the heavier sections, but it's not prominent. is this the mix
of the album or just the way it was ripped? if the latter, can it be
ripped again with normal levels? (i sense it was the rip as i'm picking
up some notable noise on the second track that doesn't sound like it would
be on the CD.) still, i like it a lot. :)

I let him know that, no, that's how the CD sounds.

And, heh. Lyric sheet. Hee hee.
